Audi R8 turns us green with envy
Dan Trent writes: Forget conservative blacks, blues and silvers, what we really need in these gloomy times are lots of brightly coloured cars. And the more extravagant the better. So I salute the Audi R8 driver I saw this morning who'd invested a hearty sum on having his R8 painted in an extremely lairy metallic green. Not unlike that offered on the new Scirocco in fact... I saw one in this colour recently too and it looked ace. To be honest, I'm not quite sure it suited the R8 as well but I applaud the devil-may-care attitude to residuals and it certainly stood out. Audi clearly caters to all tastes (or lack of) with an extensive colour palette available to R8 buyers, custom shades coming at hefty £2,350 premium. Hmm... Lilac? Bight yellow? Purple? If you're looking to make an entrance the world is your oyster...

I bought a new corsa 2.5 years ago in green tea , love it , main reason I picked that colour was to spot it easily in car park previous car was sliver could never find it in the sea of silver/grey cars
If My name was Ross i would be on 6 million quid a year and i could upset who i wanted with little consequence without giving a toss about my employer ( Thats you and me by the way on behalf of the BBC )and have any car i wanted in any colour that i wanted. But unfortunetly my name is not Ross and My Car is old and it's a Ford, it's Metalic Black and it's pretty mutch invisable out there on the road just like me, but the only good thing about it is that the Insurance is ok and Its got a V6 2.5 Engine in and it goes like a bat out of Hell, Just rite for keeping up with your audi R8 and your Garry Boys with there zooped up clio's or nova's. Still i can Dream of one day winning the lottery and buying a R8 and spending 2.5 grand getting it sprayed Green.
I have to disagree with the lavish green paint jobs... sorry to offend anyone daring to opt for this colour. Mine is a metallic grey mr2 and I love it wouldn't change it for the world!
My first car was a Ford KA wich was pacific green and it was Love at first sight. When it had to go i cryed for days and i still miss it now a year on. The more green on the road the better!!!!!!!!!!!! Gem.
I have a dark blue Bora but it's not bad with 17" rims. My last was was Silver never again it was so boring, ok not so easy to see scratches and when it's dirty it doesn't look that bad, but so boring. Sis in law got a silver Cilo, and we always get it confussed with the silver Jazz, 206, 307, and all the other boring silver hatch backs on my street. My first decent car was a Honda Civic Coupe in Aztec Green, now that's a colour Green in the day and Blue when under yellow street lamps.
When i get round to buying my first car im guna make sure its a awsome colour....sum ppl (my mum) are so boring!! she told me that black, silver and blue were the only sensible colours for a car and that all others looked stupid...i showed her a picuture of the famous metalic green mazda 2 and she nearly had a heart attack when she knew i was going to get a car that colour. At the moment we have a black volkswagen passat (zzzzzzz) lol
My gorgeous Ford Fiesta Zetec is apple green.......no one has one the same colour as me in the town that I live in, they are all borring silvers..... Im always being told by people how lovely it is..My husbands Ford Focus is bright metallic blue, my daughters Ford Ka is bright red. You could say we have a very colourful driveway.Sue
